National Barbecue Month may be nearing a close (it takes place during May), but summer hasn’t even started yet (that’s June 20)! And when is a more perfect time of the year to barbecue than that? Which is why you should take the time to educate yourself about Mission Bar-B-Que.
For those of you who haven’t heard of Mission Bar-B-Que, it’s our new and delectable fundraising venture we launched in 2015. It also happens to be the best 19-step competition-style barbecue around.
So, if you have any graduation parties, work functions, family reunions, or just have a gathering with friends coming up, do yourself a favor and get Mission Bar-B-Que to cater. You won’t be disappointed. Not only will you have some top-notch, absolutely mouth-watering food that will “wow” your crowd, but you’ll be making a huge difference in the work of Portland Rescue Mission. All proceeds go to supporting our New Life Ministry at The Harbor (for men) and Shepherd’s Door (for women and children) as well as our Hope Ministries at the Burnside Shelter.
To find out more about all things Mission Bar-B-Que, listen to a recent interview that Engagement Communications Manager Mike Deckon and Social Enterprises Manager Dave Whiting did on Barbecue Nation with JT on 101 KXL. You can also reach out to our Mission Bar-B-Que staff at 855-MSSN-BBQ (855-677-6227) and/or by email at BBQ@PDXMission.org.
